Must-Read for Advertising Professionals: How the IECHO PK Series Solves Cutting Difficulties of Special Materials Like Reflective Films and Magnetic Sheets

In the advertising signage industry, the cutting of conventional materials such as car stickers, PP paper, and KT boards has become relatively mature. What truly gives practitioners a headache are those “special materials”, reflective films, magnetic sheets, high-viscosity self-adhesive labels, and so on. These materials are either prone to jagged edges, or are incompletely cut, making them impossible to peel off, or the half-cutting depth is poorly controlled, leading to complete penetration or difficulty in peeling. The IECHO PK series intelligent cutting system has undergone specialized technical optimization for these special materials, thoroughly solving the long-existing cutting difficulties in the industry.

Reflective Film: Say goodbye to jagged edges and incomplete cutting.

Reflective film is a special material whose surface is covered with glass micro-beads or micro-prism structures, widely used in traffic signage, safety warnings, vehicle body advertisements, and other fields. Its special structure brings cutting difficulties: traditional cutting methods easily lead to jagged edges, where the glass micro-beads at the cut site are squeezed and destroyed, resulting in rough white edges that seriously affect the aesthetics of the finished product. Worse still, reflective films usually have a thicker adhesive layer and release paper, which traditional equipment often fails to cut through completely, causing edge sticking when peeling the label, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. The IECHO PK series has carried out two key technical optimizations for the characteristics of reflective films. The first is optimizing the tool movement trajectory; the cutting angle of the knife tip and the movement path are precisely calculated to minimize the squeezing of the material surface during cutting, protecting the glass micro-bead structure and achieving cut edges that are as smooth as a mirror. The second is the cutting process, which cuts through the face film layer first, and then cuts through the adhesive layer and release paper, ensuring a complete cut-through while preventing over-cutting from damaging the working table. The finished edges are smooth, and the peeling is seamless, fully meeting the standards of high-end applications such as traffic signage.

Magnetic Sheet: Precise half-cutting, no complete penetration, easy to peel.

Magnetic car stickers and magnetic advertising stickers are rapidly growing advertising categories in recent years. Their structure consists of a layer of magnetic material as the base substrate, topped with a printed image layer. Processing requires a half-cutting process, cutting through the image layer and the adhesive layer, but not cutting through the magnetic substrate. This way, after receiving the product, users can easily peel the finished product off from the magnetic substrate and directly adsorb it onto car bodies or other metal surfaces. Traditional equipment faces two major difficulties when processing magnetic sheets: first, the half-cutting depth is difficult to control, cutting too shallow makes it impossible to peel, while cutting too deep penetrates and destroys the magnetic layer; second, the magnetic material exerts an adsorption force on the tool, affecting cutting precision. The IECHO PK series has developed a dedicated cutting process for magnetic sheets. The equipment utilizes a knife pressure control system to monitor and adjust cutting pressure in real-time, ensuring that every single half-cutting line is consistent in depth and just right. At the same time, the tool material and coating are optimized to reduce the impact of magnetic adsorption on the cutting trajectory. The final achieved effect is: clear half-cutting lines, smooth peeling, no residual adhesive, and no complete penetration, drastically reducing the waste rate.

High-Viscosity Materials: Anti-stick knife technology to avoid tool adhesive buildup.

High-viscosity self-adhesive labels, tag papers, and other materials also share a common problem during cutting: the adhesive mass will stick to the knife tip, leading to stringing, adhesive dragging, and contamination of the material surface during subsequent cutting. Through technical optimizations of the IECHO PK series targeted at special materials, the PK series can output stable and high-quality cutting results whether for conventional materials or special materials.
